- Take fried tofu, fill it up with vegetable mix, do the same thing for the whole 20 tofu.
- Pre-heat cooking oil in a fryung pan.
- Deep filled tofu into batter and deep fry it in while the oil heates up, turn to the other side while they turn golden.
- Stuffed tofu is ready to be served, you can also enjoy them with some sauce or mayonaise.
The tofu used for this recipe is deep fried puff tofu. Unlike the regular tofu you find in the grocery store, the inside of puff tofu is not dense and is like sponge. It is puffy and lighter than the regular tofu and hence, the name. Tahu goreng is a generic name for any type of fried tofu in Indonesia, it can be mildly fried or deep fried, plain or battered. In Indonesia, tahu goreng is usually eaten with sambal kecap a kind of sambal hot condiment made from kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) and chopped chili peppers and shallots.
